Alices first (real) word….

Fatherhood is one of those things that I always thought I would enjoy and then it happens and it is more awesome than I could have imagined it. Being responsible for another human being that you helped make is one of the greatest joys I have known. It can also be stressful knowing that someone can be that dependant on you and you need to work your hardest for them everyday.

One of the many joys I have gotten to experience since I work from home is my daughters first words. Personally, I would have liked Dada (since I am the more fun one out of me and my wife) but I am just excited to see her grow up and learn new things every day. Check out below for my daughters first word.

Very exciting stuff and I thought I would share it with those reading. Let me know if you have kids and what their first words were in the comments below.

Alice is only 5 and a half months as I write this but as I think about it more it makes complete sense to start as early as possible. Why? Why start telling someone that they are important or beautiful or smart? Shouldnt they know this already or should they even care? The sad fact is that most people dismiss this as a given in a childs life and therefore shouldn’t have to be said.
