I am sure many of you who read this know me and for those who don’t…I want to establish this baseline. I am an honest person. I don’t like mind games and I try and be as straightforward as I can when dealing with people. I like to establish a baseline of trust before I continue on with anyone, otherwise there is room for the niggling thought in the back of my mind that something someone is saying is not meant the way it was intended or had some other meaning. I HATE THIS. It is unproductive and harbinger to end relationships.
Fatherhood is one of those things that I always thought I would enjoy and then it happens and it is more awesome than I could have imagined it. Being responsible for another human being that you helped make is one of the greatest joys I have known. It can also be stressful knowing that someone can be that dependant on you and you need to work your hardest for them everyday.
One of the many joys I have gotten to experience since I work from home is my daughters first words. Personally, I would have liked Dada (since I am the more fun one out of me and my wife) but I am just excited to see her grow up and learn new things every day. Check out below for my daughters first word.
Very exciting stuff and I thought I would share it with those reading. Let me know if you have kids and what their first words were in the comments below.
As I sit on my couch upstairs watching the clock tick I can’t help but look back and reflect on 2014. It was a big year for myself as well as for my family. It marked a year of beginnings and endings. Check out below for less vaguity and more clarity.
You are Smart, You are Beautiful, You are Important and We Love You!
This mantra as seen above is something my wife started and got me on to saying to our daughter Alice at least once a day. Just to be clear the idea originated from the book “The Help by Kathryn Stockett”. Alice is only 5 and a half months as I write this but as I think about it more it makes complete sense to start as early as possible. Why? Why start telling someone that they are important or beautiful or smart? Shouldnt they know this already or should they even care? The sad fact is that most people dismiss this as a given in a childs life and therefore shouldn’t have to be said.

var msg = Welcome everyone to the Wasteland.StackTrace(). The goal of this site is to debug the constantly running computer program known as my life. I am optomistic that there will be something in here for everyone who reads this as I have been fortunate enough in my 25 years (almost 26) of being alive to have experienced some extraordinary things, not all of them great and wonderful. There are a bunch of moving variables within my life program thus far. Some include being a father, a husband, being diagnosed with Ulcerative Pancolitis (UC), purchasing a new home or being a home owner and last but not least having a love for technology. To give you some background lets go over some of them.
